Mahindra Scorpio-N New Variant Z8 Select Launch: Starting Price ₹16.99 Lakh, Over 70 Connected Features

Mahindra & Mahindra has today (February 22) launched a new variant of its popular SUV Scorpio-N, the Z8 Select. It is positioned between the mid variant Z6 and the top line model Z8. The Z8 Select is offered with both petrol and diesel engine and transmission options. The car comes with over 70 connected features. Its starting price is Rs 16.99 lakh. The Scorpio N Z8 Select variant is priced higher than the regular Z8 variant by Rs. 1.66 lakh is cheaper. The Scorpio-N is priced at Rs. 13.60 to Rs. 24.54 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India).

Bookings are open for the SUV and it will be available at dealerships from March 1, 2024. In India, it competes with Tata Harrier and Safari, while in this price series it also competes with top line variants of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

Mahindra has introduced the Z8 Select variant of the Scorpio-N along with the Midnight Black color option of the XUV700. Apart from this there is no change in Scorpio-N. It gets 17-inch dual tone alloy wheels, dual barrel LED headlights and LED projector fog lamps with DRLs.

The cabin of the Z8 Select is similar to the regular Scorpio N Z8 variant and features leatherette upholstery with the same black and brown cabin theme. Like the Z8 variant, the Z8 Select is available only in a 7-seater configuration. Talking about the features, it features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, AdrenoX connected car technology, built-in Alexa and a semi-digital instrument cluster.

Apart from this, the special features of the UV include Sony 12 speaker audio system with 3D sound staging, dual zone climate control, wireless charger, electric sunroof and electrically adjustable driver’s seat. However, it lacks dual-zone AC, push button start-stop and auto headlights like the Z8 variant.

Mahindra Scorpio-N comes with 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol engine and mHawk diesel engine. The petrol engined SUV generates 203hp of power and 370NM of peak torque mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. When mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, this engine generates 10Nm more torque.
